Overview
Manufactured from 1994 through the end of 2003, the Power Curbers 5700-B was the first 5700-series machine to replace the conventional belt conveyor with a cast auger conveyor — a change that increased mixing power, sped up pouring and eliminated many of the problems associated with belts. The auger pivots on its mount and hydraulically tilts and slides for flexible job-site setup. Compared with the earlier 5700 model, the 5700-B added weight and horsepower, taller lift posts, larger and heavier-duty crawlers, and higher travel speed; owners reported large productivity gains — from "tripled a normal day's production" to reducing crew size from seven to four operators. Hydraulic mold offset cut hand tie-ins at catch basins from 10–15 ft (3–4.5 m) down to about 2 ft (0.6 m) without leaving the stringline. Applications supported include curb & gutter, tight radius, sidewalk up to 6 ft (183 cm) offset, monolithic profiles, barrier / parapet up to 48" (122 cm), center-pour paths up to 8 ft (2.5 m), irrigation ditches and stadium risers. In production the 5700-B was replaced by the 5700-SUPER-B in 2004 and is offered today only through the Power Curbers pre-owned programme; detailed numerical specifications are not published on the official archive page.
