The HOFMANN H18-2 is a compact self-propelled road marking machine with medium material capacities and a hydraulic wheel-motor drive with infinitely variable speed control. A hydraulic multi-disc parking brake, automatic fan-speed adaptation to ambient temperature and machine load, cooling-air intake from the upper machine area with an adjustable exhaust outlet under the machine, a single pressurised glass-bead container, an adjustable cockpit and modular/exchangeable application units support long shifts and mixed jobs. Application techniques include cold paint, two-component cold plastic, sprayable two-component cold plastic, thermoplastic and sprayable thermoplastic. Line widths reach 10–100 cm depending on equipment. Power comes from a 4-cylinder, 2,400 cm³ water-cooled Kubota turbo diesel offered in two separate versions: Version I at 44.0 kW / 2,700 rpm (non-labelled, comparable to EU Stage IIIA / US EPA Tier 4 Interim) and Version II at 48.6 kW / 2,700 rpm (EU Stage V / US EPA Tier 4 with DOC and DPF). Air output ranges from 1,300 to 2,200 l/min at 7.5 bar with a compressed-air cooler. Pressurised bead container is 170 l at max. 0.8 bar. Dimensions are 4,260–5,600 × 1,260 × 2,300 mm and material capacities reach up to 540 l for cold paint, two-component cold plastic and sprayable two-component cold plastic, 420 l for thermoplastic and 320 l for sprayable thermoplastic — all equipment-dependent.
